These maps cover central Italy from Massa and Pisa (west coast) to Pesaro and Ravenna (east coast, the northern Appenines) and depicts the retreat of Gothic Line - the German defensive line in WWII - as the Allies advanced north towards Bologna in late 1944. Clear graphics overprinted on the map depict the changing position of the Line, the principal assaults and counter-attacks, important battle sites, various defensive positions and fortifications. Cemeteries and memorials are also marked. Photos plus explanatory notes in English and Italian describe the progress of the campaign. Single-sided, bilingual.
